Draft for legal review. This text isn't final and isn't in effect yet. The published version will replace it before Hoss opens to patients.

Emergencies: Hoss is not for emergencies. If you think you're having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. In a mental health crisis, call or text 988.

Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Hoss Care, Inc.. By creating an account, starting a check-in or booking a visit, you agree to them, along with our Privacy Policy, Telehealth Consent and AI Assistant Disclosure.

What Hoss is

Hoss offers an AI health assistant that asks about your symptoms and prepares a summary, plus video visits with independent licensed clinicians. The assistant gives general information and helps you decide next steps. It doesn't diagnose, treat or prescribe. Diagnoses, treatment and prescriptions come only from licensed clinicians.

Who can use Hoss

  • You must be 18 or older and located in a state where Hoss offers care at the time of your visit.
  • The information you give, including your identity, location and health history, must be true and complete. Clinicians rely on it to treat you safely.
  • Keep your sign-in secure and don't share your account.

Your clinicians

Clinicians on Hoss are independently licensed and use their own professional judgment. They may decide that telehealth isn't right for your situation and refer you to in-person care. A clinician may decline to prescribe a medication, including any controlled substance, when it isn't clinically appropriate or allowed by law.

Prices and payment

The price of a visit is shown before you pay. For on-demand visits, your card is authorized when you book and charged when a clinician accepts your visit. If you cancel before a clinician accepts, or a clinician can't see you, the authorization is released. Refund questions go to [email protected].

Acceptable use

Don't misuse Hoss. That includes:

  • giving false information or impersonating someone else;
  • trying to get medications for someone else or for non-medical use;
  • interfering with the service or accessing it by automated means;
  • abusing or harassing clinicians or staff.

We may suspend accounts that do.

Your content and records

Your medical records are kept as required by law and handled under our Notice of Privacy Practices. You keep your rights to your information. You give us permission to use it to provide and improve the service as described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers and limits

Hoss and the assistant are provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the visit it relates to. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for professional negligence by a clinician.

Changes and ending your account

We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you before it applies. You can stop using Hoss at any time. Email [email protected] to close your account; medical records are kept for the period the law requires.
